I am in debt to Peter Campbell of Australia for forwarding the following information, which he obtained from Alex Garner at Tannoy. The information outlines cabinet designs for the Monitor Gold 12" and 15" units. The frequency response graphs have been obtained by plugging the cabinets-specs and driver-specs (publsihed by Tannoy) into a standard Theile & Small box-design computer program.

Monitor Gold 12"

• Compact with response to 48Hz:
  75 Litres, 2 x 50mm diameter ports, approx 100mm long. Ideally, tune the minimum between the two impedance peaks to 48Hz.
• Ideal with response to 35Hz:
  150 litres, 2 x 100mm diameter ports, approx 200mm long. Ideally, tune the minimum between the two impedance peaks to 35Hz.

Monitor Gold 15"

• 300L with 4 ports of 100mm diameter, 250mm long.
