Tannoy Monitor HPD Speakers

Tannoy 12-inch Direct Radiator (low frequencies only)

As well as the Dual Concentric speakers, Tannoy also made "direct radiator" drive units. These speakers were considered "full-range" units in their day (circa 1955), but these days they would be best used with a crossover unit and associated mid-range and/or treble units. The overall specifications for the Tannoy 12-inch direct radiator (dating from the 1950's) is:

Wide range unit, with duralumin center diaphragm to extent the treble response
40 Hz to 14,000 Hz +/- 4dB
14,000 Gauss magnet
2-inch voice-coil, 20 Ohms, with rating to 15 Watts
Free air cone resonance: 40 Hz
Cost: US$79 for drive unit only,
or with Tannoy US$144 Belvedere Cabinet
