Tannoy K3838 Predicted Low Frequency Response

The K3838 drive units were introduced arround 1982/3, and were intended as replacements for the HPD-385A, which was discontinued (The HPD 385A had apparently become expensive to make as it used a magnet material containing Cobalt - Alnico, Alcomax, or Ticonal magnets).

The response curve below was calulated using the published Theile and Small parameters for the K3838. The box volume was 7 cubic feet, and a box Q or 7 was assumed. Three curves are shown for port frequencies of 32, 37 and 42 Hz.
